Abstract Submission

We encourage original research work. All abstracts will be reviewed by panel of experts and then would be accepted as oral free paper/poster presentations during AICOG 2017. You are also welcome to submit a video (less than 5 minutes duration) for a presentation

Guidelines for abstract submission
  1. Only registered FOGSI members and registered PG students (FOGSI member) are allowed to submit the abstract for paper/poster or video.
  2. The abstract for the paper/poster need to be brief – not more than 300 words.
  3. The first author will be the contact person for all the correspondence about the presentation.
  4. Only one submission as first author will be accepted.
  5. All abstracts are to be submitted in English.
  6. Please choose appropriate theme related to your presentation.
  7. Please mention the prize for which the author is competing for.
  8. All abstracts must be submitted via the conference website ONLY.
  9. The title should be short and concise, & must NOT be written in capital letters.
  10. The abstract should not contain broad statements like "The results will be discussed"
  11. You may use standard abbreviations, however mention unusual abbreviations in brackets after the full word, when it appears for the first time.
  12. Use numerals to indicate numbers, except when beginning the sentences.
  13. Case reports are generally not accepted unless they bring significant and novel biological information, they will be converted to poster presentations
  14. Please do not submit an abstract under more than 1 category
  15. Last date for submission of Abstracts is 15th October 2016.
  16. All Submissions will be acknowledged by email. So, please provide your current working E mail ID along with Mobile number.
  17. By submission of an Abstract, the author transfers copyright ownership to the organizing committee for publications. The Organizing committee reserves the right to reproduce the abstract/presentation made in conference in print or electronic media.
  18. Abstracts / papers previously published or presented at any national or international meeting are not permitted.
  19. Abstracts / papers previously published or presented at local or state levels are permitted, but the details need to be mentioned in the submission.
  20. The Scientific committee will review the abstracts & the acceptance will be communicated to the presenting author by 15th November 2016.
  21. The Scientific Committee reserves the right to allocate a session time or change the presentation type.
  22. The video Submission
  23. For the video submission, an edited video with title and details of the procedure should be uploaded on the dropbox, using the link.
  24. The video (not more than 5 minutes duration) can demonstrate open surgery (abdominal, vaginal), procedures like imaging, endoscopy etc.
  25. Special prizes will be given to the best e-posters as well as videos by the organizing committee.

Note: Any Abstract submitted without FOGSI Membership number won't be accepted.

Instructions for Abstract Content
  1. Figures, tables and graphs should not be included.
  2. Use generic names of drugs only.
  3. In original research the results have to be submitted with the abstract.
  4. No references are needed with abstract submission.

Poster presentation will be an electronic poster display and details will be intimated along with the notifications to the authors. Posters will be available for 3 months for online viewing.

AICOG 2017 invites all interested individuals to submit abstracts for video presentations.

Video Abstracts Topics
  1. In this you need to mention the short name of your procedure open surgery (abdominal, vaginal)
  2. imaging

Video abstract submission is a simple two step process
  1. Step 1: Submit the abstract using the abstract submission portal here.
  2. Step 2: Submit video files through post on CD-Rom or upload on YouTube or Wetransfer.

Notes: if your video size is more then 300MB then submit your video in CD-Rom or DVD at Congress Secretariat​ Address.

Video Abstract Submission Guidelines

All abstracts must be submitted via the conference website ONLY.

You will be required to write a brief abstract for your video. The abstract should be no more than 250 words. The abstract should include

  1. A detailed description of the intended purpose of your video presentation.
  2. The abstract must be written in English.
  3. No tables and images are allowed.

Structure: Abstracts should be structured in the following sections

Title: indicate the title of the procedure

Main Text

  1. Introduction: indicates the purpose of the video presentation
  2. Method / Procedure: describe the procedures
  3. Conclusion: states the main conclusions
  4. Abstracts and/or videos previously published or presented at any national or international meeting are not permitted.
Video Submission Instructions
  1. All video presentations must be well edited and narrated in English.
  2. The video should be a maximum of 8 minutes. Videos longer than eight minutes will be rejected.
  3. Preferred video/dvd formats are .avi, .mpg, .mov and .wmv.
  4. A maximum file size of 2 GB is permitted.
  5. HD video's are prefered.
Video File Submission Method:

Upload to YouTube

  1. Make your video file.
  2. Log-in and upload your video file to YouTube and marked the video "unlisted" by the deadline (15 November 2015)
  3. Submit YouTube URL on the conference website on your abstract submission.
  4. Check your submission on 'My Page'.
  5. Once the secretariat receives your file, the confirmation will be sent.

Transfer using www.wetransfer.com

  1. Go to www.wetransfer.com
  2. Click on +add files to upload your video file (single file of maximum duration 8 minutes)
  3. Friend's email: abstract@aicog2017.com
  4. Your email: Enter the email you used during the abstract submission process.
  5. Message: Please find attached a video file to accompany abstract titled "abstract title". Add additional information here.

Send By Post

  1. Make your video abstract file as a CD-Rom.
  2. Send it to the secretariat by the deadline.
  3. Once the secretariat receives your file, the confirmation will be sent.
  4. If there is a modification, please contact to the secretariat before the deadline.
